I toyed with the idea of deleting this puppy, but my heart said no way, Jose! So here I am. Currently, I'm dying. I'm still trying to finish christmas gifts. It's a sad thing. For example, here is a picture of Paul's one, unfished broadstreet fingerless glove:

I alsooo have Gillian's socks to finish and grandma Bosch's lapghan. Then my Christmas knitting is done and I can start knitting for Nicaragua (you can leave a comment if you'd like to be put on the list for one of those: tell your friends, too)!

Can you believe I forgot to take a picture of the project that I made the Halloween Fairy yarn out of? Because I did. Anyway, it was a birthday present for Joanna. Unbiased to be exact. Except it wasn't done in the pretty silk yarn. I think it came out nice, though. I'll take a picture of it the next time she comes over or something. I feel the need to have a picture in this post. Oh well.

Woo! So a lot's been going on recently, not as much knitting as I would have hoped, but still a lot. Last weekend was SHANTY (shelter the homeless and needy this year) which is a fund raiser where we all sleep outside on the football field in boxes and get pledges for it. So sweet. Anyway, my knitting came in wonderfully, as scarves keep me uber-warm. My grandmother also taught me to crochet granny squares earlier that day, so I brought that with me. Because I'm a dork. I'll post granny square pictures later. When I take them.

Also, I finished the project with the yarn from the "Halloween Fairy." I can't post pictures until tomorrow though, or else it would be a terrible waste of a suprise.

So that's it for now, I suppose. Just letting you know that I'm not dead (and i made a new icon! with me! *gasp*), just in case anyone reads this.

[Current Read |Battle Royale]

I can't find my swatch of Ron's hat. It wasn't all too amazing anyway. I should just wait for a pattern.

Joanna stopped by today and left me a presentCollapse )! She said it was from the Halloween fairy. <3

I've been knitting like crazy lately, but sadly, I have nothing to really show for it! I started a slytherin scarfCollapse ) for my Uncle Gary, because he's awesome, but it's so boring to knit! I really like how it's coming along though. I'm almost done with my 6th repeat.

Random other things I'm working on include a lapghan for Paul's grandmother, a decorative scarf(crocheted) for mom's friend Debby, a felted tote bag for Debby, a recycled knit plastic bag (going to be so cool!), and a pretty scrap scarf.

I have no idea what to do with the yarn that Joanna gave to me, but it makes me happy!

I knitted up a swatch for Ron's animal cracker hat, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. I guess it's as close to it as I'll get without being able to look at the DVD. The colors are so off, too. I didn't feel like buying the right yarn just yet. I also made myself a book cover for my english textbook. I'll have pictures of both later. My brother's on the computer where I upload images. Bastard.

I'm getting antsy waiting for Ron's Cracker Hat (my icon) pattern to pop up, so I decided to make one myself. I've never really made a pattern before, but so far, all is going well. I'll post some pictures once I have some to post. :)

[Current Mood |accomplished]

Ah, the joys of tearing up old sweaters! Last night, I was digging through my old ones, and found a 100% wool sweater in gold. It was a bit felted and scratchy, so I never wore it. I decided to take it apart!

Death to the sweater!Collapse )

w00t! Re-opened this here journal as my personal journal was filled with many things concerning my knitting. So anyway, I don't believe I ever posted pictures of that bag I made for my mom. I probably posted them on my personal journal, but oh well.

Here they are again.Collapse )

and the ponchoCollapse )

And I can't forget the bag that I made for Lauren! I hope she likes it.

I forgot to take a finished photo!Collapse )

That's all for now!

My mom's bag is getting so frustrating. My sister and I purchased the yarn we needed to finish it today, but i'm not sure if we'll be able to finish it. I still have to finish knitting the actual bag part, we need to attatch the straps, and felt it by Wednesday. And make a lining. I just don't see how it can be done. Maybe I'll just make the lining late and tell her that I just couldn't finish it. I would hold off on giving her the bag entirely so that we could give her the completed bag but.. meh. I don't like that. So yeah. Problemsss.

Then I have to knit something for Meghan and Katie's sweet sixteen. Katie wanted something red and gold (marine colors) because their brother is going off to bootcamp a couple days after their party. Meghan wanted something blue and orange (Islander colors). They also both wanted me to make them hemp bracelets with red and gold beads. I couldn't think of anythign to knit them that they could use in the summer and that was simple, quick, and not too expensive. I decided on pillows. I've never knit a pillow before, but it seems like it should be quite simple. I'm going to make them both red and gold pillow, because I think Meghan would like that as well, but I also want to do something in Islander colors. So I'm just confusing myself. Ugh. And I still have to knit the accompanying sock for my mommy. So much to knit!
