|Socks & such.

Last week, I decided that if I would ever want to learn how to knit socks, I may as well learn now. So I looked up a basic pattern on the internet and found this which is amazingly helpful. There're step by step pictures and instructions, without which, I would have been so lost. Socks seem so intimidating, but one you get the hang of them, they're quite easy.|
( Anyway.. results of my venture into sock knittingCollapse )
I started on another pair of socks after I finished the first pair. I had some random yarn, and I thought it would look sweet as a sock, so I started it. I intended on making it for my sister, Gill, but when I asked if she liked them, she said, "Yeah but I wouldn't wear them." "Why not?" "They would get ruined." Psssh. So I asked my mom if she would wear them, and I explained to her why Gill wouldn't and she said yes. SO the socks are going to my mom for her birthday on Wednesday.

And finally, Gill and I wanted to make my mom a felted tote for her birthday. Last Tuesday, we went to our LYS (local yarn store) and picked up all necessary supplies. Saturday night, Gill was knitting in the decorative yarn at the top when she discovered that their wasn't enough of the main yarn to finish *gasp*! So, the yarn store is closed on Sundays and no where else around sells anything but like.. Red Heart. Not knocking Red Heart, but that's not what we need. So we lost a day of knitting, and we have to find a way to get to the yarn store tomorrow.
( Tote bag so far..Collapse )
